Company Profile
As Owner and Virtual Assistant for Top Shelf VA Services, I bring over 25 years of experience in the Executive/Administrative field. So, you might wonder what enticed me to move from the comforts of the corporate world to the small business world. It is quite simple, boredom and frustration. I had the desire to have flexibility in my work environment; to have exciting challenges in my life; and the knowledge that what I produce and contribute truly makes a difference in someone's life.
One of the aspects I enjoy about being a Virtual Assistant is building a business based on the development of a collaborative relationship with my clients. In getting to know my clients and their businesses, I have the opportunity to end each business day knowing I brought value into my life and into the lives of others.
I have worked in varied industries, including insurance, premiums and promotions, government contracts in the transit and training industries, toys, celebrity business management, and government research and development. Each of these industries helped me to develop strong organizational and time management skills; great attention to detail and follow-through (can we say perfectionist); the ability to juggle multiple tasks and handle deadlines efficiently; and to do everything with a strong sense of creativity. Creativity, in my opinion, is a much-needed skill in today's small business environment. I have an insatiable appetite for learning. If I am not teaching myself something new every day, I am taking a class somewhere. This appetite for learning is something I bring to Top Shelf VA Services and to my partnerships with my clients. If there is a new piece of software a client wants me to use, I guarantee I can quickly learn and attain an intermediate knowledge of any software package (within a week). I already have a vast array of software knowledge including MS Office XP Professional (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), FrontPage 2003, Adobe Photoshop 7.0, PageMaker 7.0, Illustrator 10, XaraX. To increase my knowledge of the Virtual Assistance industry I completed an extensive 20-week course with AssistU. As an industry, Virtual Assistance has been around in one form or another since the early 1980’s; however, Stacy Brice formalized it in 1997 when she founded AssistU. AssistU has become a leader in the industry, training some of the highest qualified Virtual Assistants. I have built Top Shelf VA Services on a foundation and reputation for first rate assistance, high quality services, creativity, honesty, and integrity. If you are interested in exploring the possibilities of working with a VA, please contact me. I look forward to discussing ways I can assist you in attaining your business and personal goals. I operate under the philosophy the client’s best interests come first. Therefore, this truly eliminates competition. If I cannot meet the needs of the client, or feel the partnership would not be to the best interest of both parties, I help direct clients to a more suitable VA or a registry in which they can find their ideal VA. I take all appropriate measures to assure my partnerships with clients are of mutual benefit to each party.
